Alternate Path Leads Landowner-Led Clean Energy Portfolio in Landmark Partnership with Gamuda

Alternate Path has played a leading role in securing one of Tasmania’s most significant clean energy partnerships to date, bringing together respected local landowners and global infrastructure company Gamuda to advance a new portfolio of large-scale renewable energy projects in Central Tasmania.

At the centre of this landmark agreement is a shared commitment to responsible energy development. Alternate Path has worked closely with the Downie Family, who have farmed the region for generations, to shape a landowner-led project model that places community benefit, local insight and environmental stewardship at its core.

The Central Tasmania Energy Portfolio includes the proposed Weasel Solar Farm and Cellars Hill Wind Farm, with a combined generation capacity of 550 megawatts and up to 600 megawatts of battery storage. It reflects Alternate Path’s ability to deliver strategic project visioning, investment alignment, and commercial delivery frameworks that attract the right partners and move ambitious infrastructure projects forward with certainty.

Alternate Path identified Gamuda as a partner capable of bringing both financial strength and delivery scale while upholding the community-first values embedded in the project’s foundation. With a global reputation for engineering excellence and a growing presence in Australia’s infrastructure and energy sectors, Gamuda’s involvement ensures these projects are well placed for successful delivery through to 2029 and beyond.

This collaboration sets a new benchmark for how large-scale energy projects can be progressed in Australia—led by landowners, designed with the community, and backed by global capability. It underscores Alternate Path’s position in the market as a trusted development partner, known for unlocking complex infrastructure opportunities and delivering commercially sound, socially supported outcomes.

We look forward to continuing this important work alongside the Downie Family, Gamuda, and the Central Tasmanian community as we deliver a future-focused energy portfolio that benefits all.
