Weasel Solar Farm
Overview
Working in partnership with local landowners, the Downie family from Dungrove and the Bowden family from Weasel Plains, to develop the Weasel Solar Farm, a solar project with potential capacity up to 250 MW located 9 kilometres north of Bothwell, Tasmania. Working also with the consultants on the planning and delivery of the project. In 2025, the project entered a landmark partnership with international infrastructure leader Gamuda, securing long-term development support while upholding the landowner-led and community-first vision of the portfolio. As a landowner-led renewable energy project, the Weasel Solar Farm has the potential to create new industry and economic opportunities in Bothwell and surrounding areas. The vision is to use renewable energy alongside existing agricultural and forestry practices to generate significant social and economic benefits for the local community, surrounding landowners, and the state of Tasmania.
