About Jeff
Jeff Law is a results-driven energy and infrastructure financier, with more than 2 decades of experience across Australia and the UK. In that time, he has covered lending and advisory, structured and project finance, M&A, and project development, with a focus predominantly on infrastructure & renewable energy projects.
He has also gained significant experience in the venture capital space, with skills covering fund establishment and management, capital raising, investment due diligence, and transaction structuring and execution.
Jeff’s expertise lies in his ability to manage multiple processes across a range of sectors and industries, and at all stages of project or corporate development. He is an effective communicator and a skilful negotiator of complex arrangements ranging from stakeholder agreements to financing documents. Jeff is able to contribute to a project or team at any level through to board representation.
Jeff has a proven track record of strategic innovation and deal execution in an evolving global investment landscape, driving growth and value creation in capital intensive industries.
Experience
Jeff recently led the APAC Structured Finance & M&A team at Lightsource bp, overseeing project equity and debt financing, including acquisitions and divestments across the LSbp portfolio of renewable energy projects in the region.
Previously Jeff was Co‐Fund Manager for the Commencer Capital Emerging Companies Fund, a business that was spun out of Investec Australia in 2021. In his time at Commencer, Jeff led on a number of new and follow‐on transactions, and served as a board member/observer for multiple portfolio companies.
Prior to Commencer Capital, Jeff was Head of Power and Infrastructure Finance at Investec Australia, where he led the execution of highly complex, multi‐faceted transactions spanning advisory, lending, equity, and development, with a core focus on corporate and project debt finance for energy, infrastructure, PPP’s, renewables and sustainable finance.
